1. WEEK 25 Preparing date: 01 / 03/ 2025 Teaching date: 03 / 03 / 2025 Unit 11: At the bus stop Lesson 3 A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “___’s running.” to talk about what someone is doing at the moment. - sing a song with the structures “It’s a ____.” and “The boy is ____.” - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Stages/ Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Sing a song (5’) *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Greet the class and introduce - SS say: Hello. The class claps hands. -Ss open their book. - Get pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3 (saying Open the books and look at lesson 3, please!). 2. Practice Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: (27’) *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentences ”He’s running.”, ”She’s running. *Procedures: -Look at the picture and listen. - Have pupils look at the picture. 3. - Have pupils look at the first picture. Say Look at Picture a, -Work in pairs or in groups. please! Then point to the bubble and say She’s running. - Ask pupils to say She’s running in chorus and individually (Now, point to Picture a and say “She is running”). If they said the sentence -Point and say correctly, praise them Well done! Correct pronunciation, if necessary. -Ss say in front of the class - Repeat the same procedure with Pictures b, c and d. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task, if necessary. - Select some pupils to say the sentences in front of the class. Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structures ”It’s a ____.” and ”The boy is ____. *Procedure: - Have pupils read the first, the third, Ss read the song the fifth and the seventh lines of the lyrics. Explain the meaning of the numbers. - Ask pupils to point to the first line. -Ss listen and sing the first line Play the recording for them to listen and repeat for several times. - Follow the same procedure with -Ss listen, sing the first line the third, the fifth and the seventh lines of the lyrics. Check pronunciation, the tune and the melody of the song, if necessary. -Ss listen, sing the other lines - Have pupils point to the second and clap their hands line. Play the recording for them to listen and repeat individually and in chorus.
4. - Follow the same procedure with -Ss listen and sing all the song the fourth, the sixth and the eighth lines. -Ss sing in front of the class - Play the recording all the way through for class to sing the song and clap their hands - If there is enough time, select some pupils to the front of the class to sing the song. - The class may sing along and clap their hands. 3. Homework. Listen and repeat: (12’) *Aims: Ss will be able to pronounce the sound of the letter L/l in isolation and in the words lake, leaf, lemons and Lucy correctly *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picture. -Look at the picture and listen. Draw pupils’ attention to the letter L/l, the words next to the things/pet and the colour of the letter L/l. Check comprehension. - Ask pupils to point to the letter L/l, saying Look at letter L/l. Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter L/l - Tell pupils to point to the door and the word door -Point, listen and repeat. - Repeat the same procedure with the words desk, dog and duck. -Ss listen, point and repeat. - Play the recording again and have them listen, point to the letter L/l and the words Lucy, leaf, lemons, lake and repeat until they feel confident. Give further support to those pupils -Ss say in front of the class. who find it difficult to do the task. - Play the recording again and call a few pupils to say the sound of the

Point and say: *Aims: Ss will be able to point to the letter L/l, the character (Lucy), the things (lake, leaf, lemons) and say the sound of the letter L/l and the words Lucy, lake, leaf, lemons *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picture -Look at the picture and describe. again, saying Look at the picture on Page 51, please! Ask them to describe the picture. -Point and say - Get them to point to the letter L/l and say it, - Ask them to point to the Lucy and -Ss listen say the word Lucy - Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. -Work in pairs or in groups. - Follow the same procedure with other things. Go around and correct pronunciation, if necessary. -Point and say - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to look at the picture, point to the letter L/l, the things/pet and say the sound of the letter L/l and the words. - Invite some pupils to point to the picture and say the sound of the letter and the words in front of the class. - T gets feedback. Activity 3. *Play the game: Kim’s game *Aims: Ss will be revise the words they have learnt through the game

Kim’s game . *Procedure: -Ss look and listen. - Tell pupils that they are going to look at the objects (the leaf, lemon, bus, truck, car, book, bag, box, ....) -Ss listen for 60 seconds and then write down the names of the objects as quickly and correctly as possible. -Ss play game. Explain how the game is played. Check comprehension. - Arrange the objects on the desk and cover them with a piece of cloth. Do not let pupils see what are beneath the piece of cloth. - Divide the class into groups. Do not allow pupils to write anything down. - Show the objects under the piece of -Ss listen cloth for 60 seconds. Then cover them again. In their groups, the pupils try to write down the name of as many objects as they can remember. - Have the groups swap their answers and count the number of items they have written with correct spelling. 4. Homework. (2’) -Ss listen. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson.
